Belize court orders transfer of CLICO Bahamas portfolio

BELMOPAN, Belize -- On Monday, Justice Michelle Arana granted an order for the transfer of the life and health insurance portfolio of CLICO (Bahamas) Limited -- Belize Branch -- to RF&G Life Insurance Company.

The transfer process has started and it is expected that by 1 September 2009, RF&G Life Insurance Company will be serving the portfolio. In the interim policyholders are advised to continue paying their premiums as usual until further notice.

The policyholders of Executive Flexible Premium Annuities (EFPA) are advised that their policies do not form a part of this portfolio transfer. Further advice in respect of the EFPAs will be forthcoming, said a Belize government press release.
